In 2024, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise celebrated its 40th anniversary by teaming up with adidas to release a special edition Superstar sneaker. The iconic superhero team – Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael – remains one of the most recognizable franchises in pop culture, continuously appearing across various media and products since 1984. The TMNT x adidas Shell-toe "Craft Green" pays homage to the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book, featuring premium details that honor the armored heroes. This exclusive sneaker boasts a redesigned shell-toe design that echoes the turtles' armor – a first for the Superstar model. Darker green shades on the suede heel and inner lining create a contrasting effect. The red, serrated 3-Stripes and lace charms recall the original masks of the four heroic ninjas. The familiar Trefoil logo decorates the heel, while the traditional logo is replaced by a turtle shell emblem. A similar tribute is conveyed through the "Shelltoe" gold foil inscription, which takes the place of the original "Superstar" branding. The insoles feature pizza-themed graphics, honoring the turtles' favorite post-battle snack. The rubber outsole perfectly completes the design. As with the famous Star Wars x adidas collaborations, this release comes in action figure-inspired packaging. The box includes extra gray and red laces, additional graphic insoles, a bandana ring with the turtles' monogram, and a mini comic book.
